Medical facilities are among the most complex in the world. Numerous factors contribute to overall efficiency and work-flow, including:

  • patient flow
  • staff utilization
  • resource management

Flexsim Healthcare is not a manufacturing simulator with medical icons. We teamed up with actual healthcare professionals to create the best tool for modeling the complexities and nuances of healthcare management - all without the need for programming.

Flexsim Healthcare is a 3D simulation tool with amazing animation. You build and interact with your simulation in an easy-to-use 3D environment. Viewing your simulation in 3D gives a true understanding of your system, its interactions, and how to improve it.

Why Simulate

Simulation improves the understanding of how a facility operates, models real-world variability, lessens testing costs, and minimizes the risk of errors in implementing plans or changes.

An average error

Basing a study on simple averages can't give you an accurate picture of your system's real behavior. Averages can't take into account incremental additions of variance that have a significant effect on real system performance.

Spreadsheets and databases have their place for collecting, organizing, and displaying data, but when a system has any variability, a simple 'spreadsheet simulation' can't give you an accurate picture of future outcomes.

Time is on your side
Take time into your own hands - control the speeds of your simulations

Flexsim Healthcare can simulate weeks worth of operations in minutes, allowing you to quickly gain insights into how proposed changes can affect overall productivity over long periods.

Alternatively, you can slow down the action and examine exactly what happened during a short interval. In this way you can determine the precise cause of bottlenecks and other delays.

Probability & confidence - hit your target
[image: Using averages in a serious study can be dangerous and costly. Instead, use discrete event simulation and statistical analysis.]

Flexsim Healthcare builds in variance using powerful curve fitting software and statistical distributions. By taking variablility into account, Flexsim Healthcare gives you a high level of confidence in the outcome of your studies.

Allowing key parameters of your system to vary ensures that your simulation results give you a picture of reality that you can't capture using averages and spreadsheets.

Testing & experiments

One of simulation's most important features is the ability to test 'what-if' scenarios in a model of your facility.

Determine the answers to hosts of questions risk free - no need for trial-and-error disruptions of your actual facility.

Use simulation to find a good solution, then implement. No longer will you need to cross your fingers, hoping that proposed changes will bring results. By simulating, you can be reasonably assured of outcomes ahead of time.

Benefits

Why simulate? To find answers, implement imrovements, decrease costs, and increase satisfaction.

Facility insights
Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? Simulation gives you insights into your facility and helps you braoden your understanding of its underlying behavior

In gathering the data for a simulation study, you'll learn about many aspects of your facility's processes.

As you become familiar with these processes, and see the big picture as you begin to build your simulation model, you'll gain valuable insights into the constraints and interactions of your system. Simulation allows you to test these constraints and explore creative solutions.

Flexsim Healthcare can steamline workflow and increase satisfaction among management, staff, and patients alike
Money, ROI, & the bottom line
[image: Simulation will save you money - both in helping you choose to make the right changes and in helping you discover other cost savings.]

Return on your simulation investment can be phenomenal and immediate. Cost savings in terms of NOT implementing bad designs or ineffective strategies are just the start. Simulation will help you make the right decisions more often.

With your added insights and understanding of your system, you'll be able to find additional ways to cut costs and improve efficiency beyond the scope of your initial study. A simulation study could be a powerful boost to your bottom line.

Increase satisfaction

Implementing lessons learned in your simulation study will streamline your operations. A leaner, more efficient work flow means you can get more of the important work done.

Management, staff, and especially patients can benefit from improved healthcare efficiency. A happier and more productive staff makes for more satisfied patients.

System Requirements

Recommended

Minimum

Processor

Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP

System Memory

1 GB RAM or more 256 MB RAM

Graphics Card

NVIDIA GeForce 6 series or higher 64 MB OpenGL compatible graphics card

Operating System

Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

Additional Software
