First Student Simulation Competition in Tunisia

How can we encourage students to learn problem solving skills through real-world industrial applications? Esprit engineering school in Tunisia has found one answer: organize a student competition.

The event featured 140 students organized into 27 teams, putting their modeling and analysis skills to the test on various topics proposed by industrial local partners—assembly lines of aircraft components, bottling lines, calibration services for quality control, gas station operations, and more.

On November 11th, 2017, each team presented their simulation model and results to a jury of teachers and industry professionals. After deliberations, the jury designated

FlexSim partners with two Brazilian universities to support simulation education

Two universities in Brazil, the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais—Bambuí Campus (IFMG), have received educational licenses of FlexSim as part of a partnership with FlexSim Brazil. These licenses will be used in simulation teaching and research at both institutions.

“The educational version of FlexSim is an excellent opportunity for our students to consolidate the scientific knowledge acquired in class,” said João Flávio, professor at IFMG. “Through the software, I can see that the students who have simulation or correlated disciplines in Operational Research will be able to [create] even more complex and bigger

Torino, Italy, May 14, 2015 — Politecnico di Torino has finalized an agreement with FlexSim Software Products, Inc. to provide 3D simulation modeling software to the university. Students and professors will receive the same industry-standard software used by companies worldwide in the manufacturing, material handling, healthcare, warehousing, mining, and supply chain sectors.

“FlexSim and its partners are strongly committed to supporting universities in simulation teaching and research,” said Maurizio Giubilato, C.O.O. of Flexcon s.r.l, FlexSim’s Italian partner. “We believe this is a key asset for both students

FlexSim, zombies encourage STEM awareness in Virginia

You couldn’t have picked a more appropriate time of year to finish up the STEM Zombie Challenge. On October 5th, in the month that is most associated with the ghoulish and spooky holiday of Halloween, the top student teams during the course of the competition descended on Indian River Library in Chesapeake, VA to compete for victory and prizes.

The final round carried a title that was also appropriate: “Halloween Zombie Challenge.”

Starting on July 23rd, students in and around the Chesapeake area had the opportunity to participate in the STEM Zombie Challenge at their local
