FlexSim Quarterly: A New FlexSim Publication
Update: The original printing incorrectly listed the upcoming FlexSim HC release as version 3.5. The correct version number is 4.0; this has been changed in the publication.
I’m pleased to announce a new regular publication: FlexSim Quarterly. In each issue we will attempt to provide compelling, current content related to FlexSim products and the simulation world at large. No full page ads or marketing flack here &emdash; the articles and case studies in FlexSim Quarterly will be original and informative, and are presented in a professional setting.
The first issue starts by revisiting a well-written piece authored by FlexSim CEO Bill Nordgren on avoiding the “simulation vortex”. Two news features follow, one on the development and upcoming release of FlexSim HC 3.5 and the other on Pieter Dat, a student from the Netherlands who used FlexSim HC as part of his master thesis study. Finally, we included a selection from a study performed by Paul A. Belella (of the Delcan Corporation) and Bethann Rooney (of the Port Authority of NY & NJ) which involved the creation of a “Customized Evacuation and Recovery Model and Simulation Tool”. FlexSim products were used to create the recovery model for port facilities, a small part of the tool under study.
We hope you enjoy the publication. Happy reading!
