Flexsim Chart - Overview

When you choose to keep a history of your simulation run, Flexsim saves a database of runtime statistics. Flexsim Chart reads that database and presents your data in easy to read charts and graphs.

Flexsim Chart is free with every Flexsim license.

Comparing statistics

Display individual or groups of statistics recorded by your model. Compare throughput, stay-time, utilization, and more. Learn more

Track flow & finances

Gantt charts can display product flow for object tracking. Assign financial data to objects and track system expenses. Learn more

Charts & Graphs

Save generated graphs as images for use in spreadsheets and presentations. Save chart parameters for future simulations. Learn more

Comparing Statistics

Every object in Flexsim tracks a set of built-in stats. Flexsim Chart helps compare that information in a meaningful way, giving you a better understanding of your system performance.

Processor states histogram
Compare object statistics

Point statistics can be calculated for the objects in a model, and the results of those objects can be compared to each other.

The user can calculate statistics such as:

  • flowitem throughput
  • minimum, maximum or average stay-time
  • how much time an object spent in a particular state
  • and more

These statistics can be calculated for a specific time range, or for the total length of the model run. They can also be calculated for only specific types of flowitems.

Processor states over time

Compare statistics over time

Often it is more meaningful to display how long a measured statistic changes during a model run. The user can see the content of an object graphed over time, or the amount of time an object spent in a specific state over time. This gives a mechanism to visually determine bottlenecks or steady-state time.

Tracking Flow & Finances

There are numerous datapoints to track when you're running a simulation. Flexsim Chart makes tracking product flow and system costs as simple as point-and-click.

Track Product Flow

Flexsim Chart can display Gantt Charts that show which objects the flowitems travel through. This gives the user the ability to track where each flowitem went, and how they were in those objects. This is particularly useful in situations where flowitems may travel through the same processing stations multiple times.

Use Flexsim Chart to track your simulation's financial objectives

Calculate Financial Results

The user has the ability to assign financial data to the objects in a Flexsim Chart report. This data can include both cost (i.e., how much was spent to make a part) and revenue (i.e., how much money the company will receive when that part is sold). This allows the user to include detailed and accurate financial results in their simulation study.

Charts & Graphs

Flexsim Chart includes numerous options for generating charts and graphs, exporting them for use in external programs, and saving preconfigured charts for future model runs.

Graph image export
Export Graphs for Reports

At the end of most simulation studies a final report is written and presented. Any of the many graphs and charts generated by Flexsim Chart can be exported to other file types, such as bitmaps or .jpg files. These new files can be embedded in Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents that will be presented as part of the simulation study’s final report.

Generate Multiple Graphs or Charts

Flexsim Chart can create six different types of charts or graphs. The user can create as many of each of these as they need. They simply decide what model data will be used to make each chart. Once the charts have been created they can be saved for use with future runs of the same model, so that the user does not need to set up the parameters for the charts and graphs a second time.
