Hi,

I am trying to find a new notebook for running Flexsim on, however it has to be a Lenovo (company policy).

I have been looking through the versions and those that have Nvidia graphics cards (Quadro FX 2700/512MB or 3700/1GB) also have 4GB RAM and the following processors:
Intel Core 2 Extreme X9100 (3.06GHz 1GHz)
Intel Core 2 Quad Core Extreme QX9300 (2.53GHz 1GHz)
Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q9100 (2.26GHz 1GHz)

These do seem a bit like overkill but with some of the models I have been and will be creating having over 80 processors/reserviors/etc and up to 80,000 items in them, the bigger the better right?

Any help with this would be much appreciated, thanks.

Alistair

Flexsim uses at the moment only 1 processor so a quad core hasn't pros with Flexsim. I would choose the first processor.

At work we use gaming graphics cards like Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT and normal Intel Core 2 Duo and we haven't ever any speed problems. It's more important to have a good design of your simulation especially with very big models.

If you can choose your operating system I would prefer windows xp. It's faster

Alistair,

Before you sign up for any particular laptop you will want to find out what video cards they have and then go to the following post: http://www.flexsim.com/community/forum/showthread.php?t=272&highlight=video+card to determine what lap tops have video cards that will work well with Flexsim.

Cheers Brandon,

The various computers I have used so far with Flexsim have had a variety of Nvidia cards with little difference to me of which ones best so I just always try and stick with those.
